COMMUNITY GARDEN

At Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2020 is beginning in a whole new direction within our community of believers. Part of our property has been designated for a garden which will be divided into plots for the congregation and community members to grow and care for the very food we eat. The concept of a community garden blends well with the Immanuel’s historical identity as a faith-based, rural, agricultural institution.  It is an opportunity for us to reach out to share our Christian values and and bounty with the community.  A portion of the food grown and harvested will be donated to the food pantry and/or other institutions that need it most.  This will coincide with our annual Tractor Sunday event where we bless the machines that harvest our crops and bless and share the bounty that God has provided for us.  This is a wonderful opportunity that is not currently available in the local community. We are excited to announce that the community garden concept is in planning stages. More information will be posted here as it becomes available.  Not a gardener? See how you can join Immanuel and connect with all God's people in our surrounding communities.
