Immanuel Lutheran Church has a variety of opportunities for children and youth of all ages to learn Bible stories and about living the lives Jesus has called us to.

  • 7th and 8th grades
  • High School/Young Adults
  • Adult
Classes are held from the Sunday after Labor Day to the Sunday before Memorial Day.

We use Augsburg's Spark Rotation for a curriculum.

The Sunday School also believes in helping the community locally and globally. We have had pancake breakfasts to help the Food Pantry and ELCA World Hunger Relief. We also have fun family activities once or twice each year.  Registration is open. All students must be registered by September 1, 2017. Click here to register online or click on here to print form.
Confirmation is a two-year ministry for 7th and 8th graders in which they meet throughout the school year and intermittently during the summer. During those two years, confirmands cover the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, Luther's Small Catechism, church history, and other foundational pieces that contribute to learning the denominational history and beliefs.  In addition to classroom learning, the group also participates in service activities.

Luther League is available for any student or young adult,
starting with 7th grade.

Luther League provides opportunities for youth to get
together to participate in activities that they enjoy while
putting a Christian twist to it. For example, we hold movie
nights where we watch a movie and then hold a discussion.
We also host the church's annual ice cream social. We
enjoy hosting activities in which we can fellowship with
other Christian youth.

We believe in helping the community locally and globally. We hold various fundraisers and food drives and have donated to the Helmer Food Pantry, Lutheran World Relief, the Hands and Feet Project, and the Kendall County Children's Advocacy Center.  We also serve pie during Immanuel's Advent services and we send Christmas gifts to the shut-in or nursing home members.

Our Mission Statement:
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a specialized form of religious education which focuses on children age 3 through 6th grade. It is a fun filled program offered for one week during the summer. Each program has its own theme that children can explore. A week of Vacation Bible School usually includes games, snacks, crafts, story time, music and, of course, Bible lessons. There is always a connection between God and the theme, allowing kids to discover God in a creative way. Online registration opens next spring.
