Busy Hands meets every second and fourth Wednesday to create beautiful quilts for Lutheran World Relief. By providing these quilts, people across the globe find these quilts useful in ways you probably never imagined. In addition to being a cozy, clean new bed cover, it can be:

  • a baby carrier, tied around a mother's back;
  • a market display, spread on the ground and piled with vegetables;
  • a sack for transporting those goods to market;
  • a sunshade;
  • a shawl;
  • and most importantly, a constant reminder that someone, far away, cares a lot.

Busy Hands also participates in the Prayer Shawl ministry, in which members knit or crochet shawls for those who are ill or in need of comfort. "A prayer is said as the shawl is begun and then many prayers are added with the stitches. Most of the time the recipient of the shawl is not known, but the recipient receives the message that many people have been praying for them and will continue to do so. Each shawl is a blend of prayers, talents, gifts and grace." (The Lutheran)
Pastor Mike and members of our congregation meet on the first Tuesday and first Thursday of each month to gather and visit parishioners who are ill or unable to attend church for various reasons. This not only allows the parishioner to receive communion and prayer, but it also provides a much-needed and appreciated opportunity for fellowship.
WELCA: Women of the ELCA
WELCA includes Lutheran women who gather in over 7,000 locations in the U.S. and the Caribbean, for service, study, advocacy, fellowship and more! WELCA embraces all kinds of ministries that support our mission of mobilizing women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ. We engage in ministry; we take action through advocacy; we promote healing and wholeness; and we support one another in our callings. We assist participants in their desire to discern God's call in their lives and to discover their spiritual gifts through workshops, retreats, resources, scholarships, and global education.
Members of our Altar Guild meet various times throughout the year to ensure that our altar and the sanctuary are prepared for worship.

"Members of the altar guild are ministers of the liturgy. This ministry involves preparing the worship space with the furnishings, appointments, vessels, elements, linens, and paraments used in the liturgy."
